Designed for a narrow beachside allotment in Merewether, this contemporary duplex redefines compact coastal living through architectural clarity and innovation. The façade is expressed as two sculpted volumes, unified by soft curvature and framed arched glazing that introduces elegance and rhythm to the streetscape. The upper-level openings maximise natural light while creating a refined vertical emphasis, enhancing the sense of height within the constrained footprint.
At ground level, a textured stone base anchors the composition, while a recessed timber garage door integrates seamlessly into the façade, maintaining visual cohesion. Layered planting softens the built form and reinforces the coastal context, subtly connecting architecture and landscape. Internally, the design prioritises spatial efficiency, daylight penetration, and cross-ventilation—delivering a sophisticated duplex solution that responds intelligently to its narrow lot while embracing the relaxed yet refined character of Merewether’s beachside setting.
